Letter to the Spain's president

Dear Mr. Mariano Rajoy Brey,

I'm sending this menssage for you because I want to tell you how the situation is in a forest called Fragas do Eume, in Pontedeume, Galicia.

I think that you should know that some interprises are thinking about build a factory there, killing all the wood. You have to understand that we won't  throw the towel and that we will fight for our forests and nature.

They can build the factory in many other places like industrial states. It's the only remaning river forest in the area and if they build a factory the natural habita of the birds and animalls will be destroyed.

I have a chinese friend...

I have a chinese friend. Her name is Hanna, when she was eleven years old, she had to escape from her country. The reason was that her parents stopped her education because they wanted her to marry Hanna an old man.

Hanna talked to her mum and told her about her dreams: 'I want to go to the university mummy. I will be a great doctor in the future.`BUt her mother didn't aprove of that. She ordered Hanna to accept her future.

She was very sad for months. Hanna hated the idea of being the wife of an old man that she didn't love. She didn't want to work all day at home too. So, she decided to escape.

The first time that she tryied it, her father found her. The punnishment was very hard... But she learnt from her bad decision and when she tried it the second time, she could do it.

Now, Hanna is 18 years old. She's a briliant medical student.

I think that probably my uncle was the most important person who influenced my life positively. When I was a child, he showed me how cool studying history could be.  He loves the Roman Empire, and he gives to me somethings like a Roman helmet. 

However, my uncle is from Cartagena, so I saw him on several ocassions, but not everyday. I got my love of literature from him. I can´t imagine my childhood without my uncle, without his talks about the past of Cartagena, the battles between Carthaginians and Romans... He helped me to grow intelectually. He helped me to find my vocation.

First, in Mugardos we don´t have a lot of sights to see. Well, we have a castle that, hopefully, will become a hotel with spa.  Apart from sightseeing, there are a lot of other things to do. There are good restaurants to eat octopus or "raxo". 

You are coming in a few weeks, so maybe we can go to Santiago de Compostela too. If you prefer going to a big shopping centre, we will go to Marineda City in A Coruña.

It´s great to hear from you. How are things? I miss you so much.  We will have fun. I'm going to get you at the airport on the 17th of November at nine o'clock.

There are some amazing places you should visit, like the castles: San Felipe's castle and La Palma's castle (they are opposite each other). Other places that you should visit are the shopping centres ( I know that you love going shopping like me). My favourite shopping centre is Marineda City, the biggest shopping centre in Europe.

The best things that Galician people have here are the sea and shellfish. You can do activities in the sea like going on a boat trip or going surfing. When you come here, you should eat octopus in Mugardos because it´s delicious.

Don't forget to pack your umbrella (the weather here is horrible)

Hi, great to hear from you. How are things? I'm so excited that you are coming here for the first time. This is a great place for sightseeing and you can do a lot of things here.

I think that the best places you can visit here are Mugardos beach,  La Palma Castle and the wonderful football pitch.

If you are coming next week you should send me 300€ to pay for the cabs and another things. I still don't know where are you staying, I think you will have to sleep under a bridge, but don't worry I'll  give you a sleeping bag to stop you from getting a cold.

I think that my aunt, my mom´s little sister, is the best person that I´ve ever met. She is called Mili and she is like an older sister to me.
 She is a student, but a very capable person in my eyes. She lives away from me now, with my grandmother, and they have money problems, so my aunt works every day as an english teacher ( and she´s only 20 years old!) at an english school after attending her lessons at university. She also plays basketball with her university team. I don´t know how she has time to do everything but she´s an example to me because at her age she has archieved a lot of things that many people can´t get, being older than her.

Somebody who affected my own life positively

I never know what I should answer when somebody asks me about someone who has affected my own life. At the moment, I think I will choose my mother. I choose her because she taught me what life is like and how I should live it. She taught me that if somebody tries to bring you down, you have to get up stronger so that nobody can bring you down again. I inherited my love of reading, my love for music and my habit of being always late from her. I'm a lot like my mother. I remember that my first poem was for her, because she had read a poem for me the same day. My mother will always be one of my favourite peoople in this world, because she taught me how to be happy. I will always be grateful to my mother.

 There are a lot of sights to see here. Mugardos is a very small village. Some places you should visit are for example, the Palma's castle, the Harbour... Mugardos is also very famous because of its Mugardos' octopus which is served with paprika and potatoes.

Galicia is not justa great place for sightseeing. There are lots of places youy must visit that are well-known thoughout the country. Hercule's tower , Marineda city (a shopping centre), Lugo's walls, Vigo's lighthouse... They are only some great number of places you could visit in Galicia.

Don' t forget to pack your umbrella because in Galicia rains a lot! Huges and kisses, Brais.

There are lots of sights to see here in Ares. You can see a Roman bridge, many natural beaches, two churches, one in Ares and the other in Lubre. There are two parks. There are two places to go for a walk, one is the bird sanctuary where there are many birds.

Apart from sightseeing, there are lots of other things to do like going to a café or going to the library.

Apart from sightseeing you can do a lot of things. You will come in december, a great time and my favourite month.
You know that you can stay at my house, and my mum wants to see you too.

I was thinking of going to the main square in Ferrol, to see the christmas ligths, and we can also go to Coruña to try ice-skating. In Coruña, we can go to Marineda, a shopping centre, and have dinner at KFC because you don´t have this restaurant in your country.
You can help me to buy an put up christmas decorations.

Here, the weather is very cold and rainy, so don´t forget to pack a lot of winter clothes.

If you want to go shopping you can go to the Marineda City shop centre in A Coruña and shop or have a good time there.

The person who has influenced me the most by Raquel

The person who has influenced me the most is my grandfather. His name is Ángel. He's been working all his life to give his children the best. He has never studied because he left school at twelve, but he's always telling me that I have to study, specially languagues.

My grandfather started to work at 12 in a ship. He was traveling around Europe for 6 years, without seeing his family. When he returned, he found out that his mother had died one year before and from then on, he had to help his father with his young brothers and sisters.

He influenced me the most because he has taught me lots of things.

The person who influenced my life

The personn who influenced my life the most is my dad. He is tall and he has got short black hair and brown eyes.

He was living in a house with a lot of animals when he was a child. Now he works as a fisherman on a ship. He is really fun and he always makes laught to the people that is with him.

He influenced my life because when I was a child, he tought me a lot of things. For example, when he was watching a football match I was sitting with him and he explained to me all the questions that I had about it. I learned a lot with him. Now we watch the matches together and I love it.

The person that I admire the most is my aunt Sira, because she overcame cancer. 

She's very positive and strong. Whatever happens to her she always smiles and is happy. When she was ill she made a lot of jokes. When she was with my family, she didn't want anyone to be sad.

I learned a lot from her, I learned to be positive and strong. Her illness influenced me a lot, because now I want to be a doctor to save people's lifes, like the person who saved my aunt.

She's a teacher, so when I was a child she helped me whith my homework. In my family everybody talks Spanish, but with me, she talks in Galician, because she wants me to learn ir. Now I appreciate it a lot.

 My name is Guillermo and I'm the history teacher at I.E.S. Mugardos.r I was thinking about taking my pupils on a trip around Morocco. This year we have studied the Spanish colonialism and the country which they enjoyed  the most was Morocco.

So we wanted to know if there are still places avaliable. I would be obliged if you could send us to a place where there's not a strong religious presence, because I don't want my pupils to have to wear burkas because it could be a problem for many of their families. I understand that it's difficult to find somewhere like that, but at least somewhere that will make an exception for them.

So if there is a tour like this or a similar one please send me the total cost and dates.

Eating Habits in Spain by Miguel

My name is Miguel and I'm going to describe eating habits in Spain.

Here, for breakfast, we usually eat a piece of fruit, milk, some cereals, juice... We usually eat something light, because more or less two hours later, we eat an aperitif. Breakfast is the most important mealof the day, and you could eat breakfast at any hour in the  morning. Eve  if you have hangover on Sunday morning, it's probable that's you eat  breakfast for lunch.

We eat lunch between two or three PM, and it's the main meal of the day, we often have meat, fish, vegetables, potatoes (chips)... We have some traditional foods, like omelette, paella, octopus, broth made from turnip leaves and some others.

Around six PM, we eat a snack, something like English tea, but isn't the same. We usually eat a sandwich made with cheese, ham, turkey...

The last food before going to bed is  dinner, and it's between nine and ten PM. Th e kind of food you have for dinner varies , because some people eat more for dinner than other people, who only eat a cup of milk with cereals or biscuits.

Eating Habits

In Spain the eating is different to others countries. The breackfast are the main meal and it usually is at eight or nine in he morning. The tradicional breakfast in Spain are biscuists with milk, cereals with milk, cereals with colacao etc. Other meal is have lunch, it usually is at two or three and the traditionals food are omelette, stew, paella,lacon octopus...People usually eat something in the afternoon, chips, biscuits, sandwich etc. The last meal in the day is dinner, the people usuallly have dinner when they are watching tv about nine and ten hours in the night, they usally eat sandwiches, pizza, burgers ...

The spanish people don`t usually eat in restaurants, they preefer eat in their homes.

Dear Editor,

I'm writting because i want to draw your attention to the current strike which are the lorry drivers taking.

As I said, lorry drivers have stopped working because they don't agree with their salaries. Because of that, all the neighbouring areas feel that there is a lack of necessity items like salt, bottled water or cleaning products and it makes getting them very difficult.

Another problem is that we can't do anythingto stop it because the drivers wont change their opinion and we have to realise that they are right but if they continue with the strikes we, the people who live in Ferrolterra, wont be able to get the products we need to live.

Writting this I want to make lorry drivers understand that their wages can be unfair, but if they dont work it is unfair for all of us.

You know I've always loved history and everybody knows that I haven't got any problem working in that area

I'm not afraid to teach other people, but I can't deny that it will remind me a lot of my days as a student and I will b reminded often our funny lessons. But I wont give them so much work because it was a hell at the time.

Hi Aida, It was great to hear from you. I hope you and your family are well and that you had a nice Christmas. My holidays were just ok but I was very sad because it was the first year that I spent without my brother. Now he lived in Queens Pak at London. I spent the 24th December in my uncle's house because I had a dinner with them. The next day was Boxing Day and I had a lot of presents from Santa Claus under my Christmas tree. I first celebrated New Year`s Eve with my family but then I met my friends to go to a party. We stayed at a friends house, played music and had drinks. We had to put on the gas fireplace because the night was very cold. I became ill and I had tonsillitis. The doctor gave me an antibiotic for ten days but I still have pain in my throat. On the Spanish day of the Three Wise Men I had a lot of presents too. I ate Christmas Cake with my parents but then I went for a lunch at my godfather's house. I played a lot with my little cousin. As you see,I've got every reason to think that my holidays were just ok. I wish you a Happy New Year! Kisses, Cintia

Hi Laura, Long time no talk. I hope you and your family are well and had a fantastic Christmas. This Chritsmas I was with my parents and my sister. On 23rd I went to Ferrol with my friends and we went shopping for the presents and we had dinner to celebrate the holidays and Chritsmas. For Chritsmas dinner I stayed at home with my sister becouse my parents went to Ferrol to buy a present for her and the dinner. But when they arrived home my mum had forgotten to buy our dinner !! So we only had prawns for dinner. My parents gave me news earrings, make up and money. For Chritmas lunch we went to my grandsparents house. My grandsparents gave me new clothes and money. On Boxing Day I stayed at home and I watched TV and played with my sister so it was a relaxing day. On New Year's Eve I had dinner at home and this time my mum had remembered to buy the dinner. After we had had dinner I met friends and we went to the disco and we danced all night. At eigth o'clock we went to a restaurant and we had breakfast : chocolate with churros. The New Year's Day I felt very tired but my mum made me go to my grandsparents house for lunch. But I think my holidays was great and very fun. I hope you send me a new letter. When we finished eating, my cousin and I saw the christmas tree and grabbed the presents and opened them.Next I danced with my brothers and my parents. It was a good day . On New Year´s Eve I ate with my parents and my grandmother only, because my grandfather was in hospital.When we finished dinner the bells started and we ate the grapes. BUT SUDDENLY SAW A BEUTIFULL BLUE MARINE LEATHER COAT WICH HAD 75%OFF AND I TRIED TO BUT OTHER GUY CATCHED IT AT THE SAME TIME AND WE STARTED TO FIGHT WITH THE BAD LUCK THAT E ROKE THE COAT AN THE BAD PERSON RUN OUT AND I HAD TO PAY IT AT THE ORIGINAL PRICE. ON NEW YEAR'S EVE I WAS A LITTLE ILL, SO I COULDN'T MEET ANYBODY AND HAD TO STAY AT HOME. Hi friend! How are you? How did you spend your holidays? I hope that you and your family had a great time this Christmas. My holidays were great. I spent my holidays with my parents, my grandparents, my uncles and my cousins. On Christmas Eve, I was with my three cousins, and we spent the day visiting my home town, Grijó, and meeting old friends. At night, all the family came to my grandparents house for dinner. We ate the 'Consoada', a typical portuguese dish made of codfish and boiled potatoes. This night, my little cousin, who is six years old was so impatient to see Santa Claus, but finally she couldn't stay up all night and she only could open the presents that he brought to her. New Year's Eve was another great day in my holidays. In the morning me and my parents went to Porto, and we visited all the city. At night, all the family went to the center of Grijó to celebrate the end of 2014. Thousands of people went there too, and all together said welcome to 2015! Well, I hope that your holidays had been great too. See you next time!

The most interesting holidays in my life

The most interesting holidays in my life Hi friend how were your holidays? I had a really good time this holidays. I visited the family and i spend time with them and with my firends too. I bought some gifts to my family and also things for me. I also had some great gifts. On christmas eve i had dinner in my grandparents home with my family and i had a great time with them. On christmas day we exchanged presents and then i went to my grandparents home to have lunch. Other great day was new year's eve. I had dinner with all my family in my house and then i went out for some drinks and i got home the next day in the morning. On new year's day i slept until the evening. On the twelft night i went out with my friends but i got home early. The next day we exchanged presents and i had lunch with my family in my house. During my holidays i also went to the sales and i bought some clothes. Other days i went out and i met some friends or i stayed at home with my family. The worst thing about christmas was the bad weather, because it was too cold and also rained some days. Hi Pepe This Christmas was very good, on Boxing Day i went to a bar with my friends and we stayed there all afternoon bet on the Premier League and had a drink. Over the next few days of Christmas i stayed with my friend and with my parents. on Christmas Day my parents gave me a play station 3 game and more money on New Years Eve we had a party in Ares and i went with my friends. There were a lot of people at the party and it was one of the best parties of my life. theNext day we were very exhausted and we decided to go to Mugardos but we had missed the bus and we stayed in Ares all day. For the New Year i wished that i will pass my exams with a good marks but now my wish wont be granted.. on the Twelfth Night my parents gave me money and i bought more clothes and play station games. My Christmas was really good but was very very short. Bye.
