Slippery Road by Jose

I, Jose, of 17 C/ Real, Mugardos, student, state:

1. On 3 June 2012 at 4:30 pm, I was parking my car  in the park.
2. I heard a loud noise.
3. I saw a white car skidding on the road and the car crash into the guardrails.
4. My car was parking in front of the white car.
5. The driver of the car got out of his car and I went next him.
6. He told me to phone an ambulance and a tow truck. He told me too that he wasn't injured.
7. It was a rainy day.
8. I don't know at what speed was he driving.

Japanese pokemon trainer.

If I would change places with another person I would be Ash Ketchum, a 10 year old Japanese pokemon trainer.
If I could be a pokemon trainer I would catch a lot of pokemon and travel around the world.
I could spend the day training my pokemon.
Before becaming a master pokemon trainer, he was only a child who lived in Paleta town.
I'll probably have a very big Charizard who spits fire.
Ash will become a pokemon master winning Kanto's league.
I would like to be Ash for a day for the great experience to share a lot of adventures with Pikachu.
If I could travel around the Kanto's region, I would get the chance to train the best pokemon of the world.
Doing something I love while travelling the world would be a dream come true.
by Miguel and Sergio

Dan Reynolds

If i could be someone else for a day, i would choose to be Dan Reynolds. The lead singer of Imagine Dragons because i could sing with this band and i would earn a lot of money.
He was born in USA on July 14th in 1987. He plays guitar,piano,percussion...
He composes indie-rock music with the group Imagine Dragon in Las Vegas.
His wife is a singer too with Nico Vega.
If I could be him I would donate half my salary to NGO's.
I would travel arround the world. I would make new albums and I would win awards.
I would have a big house and two sons.
Doing something I love while giving back in the process would be a dream come true.

I would be Iker Casillas

If I could be someone else for a day I would choose to be Iker Casillas. He is a famous football player, who plays for Real Madrid. He is Spanish and he is 33 years old. I would choose to be him because I like football and I also like to travel to a lot of different places. He started playing football in Real Madrid when he was really young. He has played in Real Madrid for all his live and he is still playing there. He earns a lot of money, a six salary number and I would enjoy that money for a day. I would also have the chance to play a football match in one of the best teams of the world. I would take a lot of photos or writer about it so I could remember that experience for all my live. In the future he will probably keep playing in Real Madrid or maybe he will go to another team.
I would also meet a lot of famous and important football players and I would had the chance to play with them. Doing something I love while earning a lot of money would be a dream come true.

Dave Mustaine

Well, I'm Carlos. I'm 16 and I'm from Ares, but I study in the IES Mugardos.
A person that influenced me, in a couple of ways, is Dave Mustaine.
Singer, guitar player and frontman of the band Megadeth, Dave Mustaine started playing in bands in the 80´s, in the middle of the Heavy Metal Wave, playing with Metallica, but he was kicked out because of his character. He used to be short-tempered,stubborn and agressive. But that changed after he went to rehab for drugs, for the 15th time. That was 5 years ago. Now he's more calm, but still a bit nervous.
He influenced me as an example of superation, and because of his musical skills which are amazing.

My Mum

Hi!

My name is Pedro, I am fifteen and I am from Portugal, but I have lived in Spain since 2002. Now, I am going to talk about a very special person to me: my mother.
Her name is Ana, she is 42 years old and she works cleaning houses and flats. She came to Spain with my father because the situation in Portugal was worse than here, and because she wanted a better future for me.
She is a very extroverted and cheerful person, and I think she influenced me to be an honest person, to take risks in my life and to never give up.

Thank you Mum!

My Grandfather

If I´m writing this it´s because I´m going to tell you about my grandfather Guillermo Gallego Abeledo.
He was born in 1935 during Franco´s dictatorship in a family which was against it. During his whole life he was influenced by leftist ideas, especially communism.
When he was 15 or 16 he joined the Institute of Marine Engeniering and some years later he became one of the greatest ship inspectors in the world. He worked for many companies, but the company which he liked most was Lloyd´s Register of Shipping, a company which he had travelled around the world with.
He was very kind, funny and well-turned out. He has influenced me because we always thought in the same way and he helped to shape my political ideas.
Finally he died in 2014.

No light in the outskirts by Delia

Dear Editor,

I live in the centre of Mugardos. Where I live there are many lights but when you leave this part of the town there aren't lights in the street.

I work in the outskirts and it is terrible to drive back home. It becomes really scary because you can't see anything except the light from the car.
It is easy to get into a car accident because you can't see the other cars on the road until they are right in front of you.

In my opinion, it's going to be good to eliminate the lamp posts of the centre of the town and put them in the outskirts.

Yours faithfully,

Delia Rodríguez

No Places to Walk your Dog in Ares. By Andrés

Dear Editor,
I live in the middle of Ares. I have a dog, but there isn´t a park to walk my dog.
I don´t like to walk my dog in the street because there are a lot of peope and cars and is very dangerous because the streets are really narrow.
I think that you could create a park to walk the dogs or reserve some of the areas in the pine forest justo to be used by pets and their owners.
Yours faithfully, Andrés Nóvoa

Gus, by Sara

I've got a hamster, his name is Gus.  He is grey with a dark grey stripe on his back. My sister and I bought him in a pet shop in Naron two years ago so I supose he must be two years old.

He loves eating sunflower seeds and nuts, and he also likes hamster's food. His favourite activities are running and climbing. I usually take him out of his cage and I put him on my arm so he can run along my arm. While I clean his cage, I let him play with his plastic ball and he runs around the whole house.
My mum really likes him but she hates touching him and my cousins are very fond of him.  They are always asking me to take him out of his cage.
His cage is in the sitting room on a side table because it is one of the sunniest places in the house and Gus loves the sun!
Gus, the fastest hamster in Ares

Today Spanish families

Spanish families now are different from Spanish families 50 years ago.
Before, most families lived in the same house on different floors or in the same neighborhood, and a typical Spanish family was made of parents, grandparents, children, aunts, uncles and cousins. Men usually worked in the fields and took care of the livestock while women took care of the children and the household tasks.
Only children from wealthy families went to school because there was no public education system and private schools were too expensive for the common citizen.

Now, Spanish families are very different. A typical Spanish family now is made of: parents, children and sometimes grandparents. Both parents work, all children go to school (private or public) and they don't usually live in the same house or in the same neighborhood. Most children grow up with their grandparents because both parents must work. Now, men and women have the same types of jobs because there is more equality for female workers.

In conclusion, I hope my children will grow up in a society where families are important and men and women  have job equality.

Online Newspapers by Carlos

In my opinion, online newspapers are the best way to access the news. Statistics from the The Pew Reseach Center for the People & the Press show that 40% of people prefer the online newspapers.

I agree with the statistics. I think that online newspapers are the best because you can read them without destrying the forest.
Online newspapers are cheaper than the printed newspapers, For example La Voz de Galicia costs 2.5$ when if you buy the online newspaper costs 1 $
Another advantage of online newspapers you can read the news in many languages.
In conclusion the online newspaper is the best because it is cheaper, envayromentaly friendly and good for your economy.

Online Newspapers are the Best Way to Access the News. By Delia.

In my opinion, online newspapers are the best way to access the news. Statistics from The Pew Research Center for People & the Press show that 40% of the interviewees prefer the Internet and 35% of people prefer newspapers; I agree with the statistics presented from the survey.

I think that online newspapers are the best because they are enviromentally friendly, you can access to the information when you want and where you want, and also is cheaper than the printed newspapers.

Online newspapers are enviromentally friendly because you don't need trees to make paper and you don't have to destroy the forest.
Another advantage of online newspapers is that you can access to the news 24 hours at day, 7 days a week.
Moreover, you can also read old newspapers if you need information of the past and you can get it wherever and whenever you want.
Finally, online newspapers are much cheaper than printed newspapers and this is really good for your economy because you don't need to spend a lot of money.

In conclusion, online newspapers have a lot of advantages and they  also are more convenient than the other ways to access the news.

What is the most important thing that we need to teach children? by Delia

 Seattle Municipal Archives

Important experiences in your childhood shape you as a person, so I think we should teach children the importance of sharing, the community involvment and the value of truth.

Sharing is the first thing they have to learn. When I was 13, one night when I was in my bed the phone rang. It was a friend of mine. She told me that she was in the street because she had forgotten her keys and she couldn't get into her house. I told her to come on and we shared my bed. Since then she has been my best friend.

In addition, we should teach them that they should help other people. Since I was a child I've always collected the clothes that I have outgrown and I put it in a container for used clothes. My mum has always told me that we must help poor people because in the future we may also need help.

Finally, children have to know that they must tell the truth always. When I was 8, I missed class one day because I had a terrible headache. The following day I told my teacher that I hadn't gone to school because I had been ill. Three of my classmates told her the same. It was not true, they had not been ill, and she didn't believe me. I felt very sad because I was telling the truth.

In conclussion, I think we should teach children to became good people.

Edmond's birthday. By: Peppa

Last weekend it was Edmond's birthday. I went to Emily's house to help her with the children.
First I had one idea to play ''musical statues'' (dance when the music is playing and when the music stops you freeze.) Zaza won the medal and the other children cried. To stop the kids from crying, mum elephant proposes that they play ''pass the parcel'' and each one wins a medal. George didn't pass the parcel and he took two medals, so I took one of them and I gave it to another kid. At the end of the game, the music stopped and when Edmond opened the parcel, he found a giant teddy bear.
We (the helpers) tried to eat before the little ones but they cried sowe didn't eat anything.
At the end of the party, I felt so tired, I thought being a helper was going to be easy,  but now I know it's difficult!!

Postcard by: Andrés

Dear friend,
This is the postcard showing where I live now. I moved here because my father found a new job here. This town is big and has a lot of things to do such as a cinema, a bowling alley and great restaurants. I like about the new town but I hate the noise and the people.
Why don´t you come and see yourself? We will be very happy to have you here for Easter holidays.
Best regards,
Andrés

My opinion about Spanish music by: Andrés

Dear friend,
I erceived your letter and I want to express my opinion about Spanish music. I don´t like Spanish music. Here Pop or Rock mucis is very popular. All songs are in Spanish and hace romantic themes. Now, Latin music is also very popular. I think music from other countries is better. I love Rock music and Electronic music but in Spain we don´t have concerts or festivals of these types of music. When I want to listen to a popular rock singer I have to go to concerts in France or in Portugal.
Don´t expect to listen to good music in Spain.
Best Regards,
Andrés

I´d rather go to the mall... by Antón.

Online shoping has become very popular in the last years. A lot of people are starting to do their shopping online.

First of all when you buy something online, you can do it in minutes and in your own home. you don't need to go to a shop and spend a lot of time. In addition to this you can buy old or used things in online shops, and they are very cheap.

However there are some prolems when buying things online. In online shops, you can't check out the product for yourself. Also if you want to go shopping with your friends and family, there's nothing better that going to a regular store.

All in all I think buying online is a good option if you are very busy, but I prefer to go to a regular shop and check the products.

Last week I  went to one of my friend's little brother's birthay party. I went there to help with the party but it was a nightmare. At first I didn't get an invitation,  and I wanted to go.
My friend called me and asked me to help them. When I arriveed at my friend's house, it was full of little monsters. We played some children´s games like  Musical Statues but the little boys started to cry if they lost and it was imposible to make them stop. Then we started to play Pass the Parcel but one of the kids, my brother, didn't want to pass it because he wanted to get all the "pure plastic gold medals" and the rest of them started to cry again.

Later in the evening they had jelly, juice and cacke and we had to serve everything! Finally their parents came to pick them up, thanks god! I was  exhausted and I went straight to bed.

If someone invites you to their brother´s or sister´s birthday party say you're sorry, you can't go!

Hugs

Antón

Online shopping, better or worse?

Online shopping has become very popular in last five years. People of different ages around the world usually buy things from online shops. There are adventages when we do it, but there are disadvantages too.

When you buy something from online shops, you only spend a few of minutes. You can buy all you need with a click.

Secondly, you can buy many products at really good prices. Normally, in a physical stores, you use to spend more money.

You can have a lot of sizes, colors and sellers when you buy from online shops too. You can choose between a lot of different products.

But online shopping has got disadvantages too. First of all, you can't feel and check your product. You only can see it in your screen.

You can negociate the prices of products. In online shopping, you can't talk face to face to a store owner.

Finally, when you buy in a physical store you can feel good about your purchase. When you buy from online shops, you can feel good, but you  more satisfacted when you buy your products from online shops.

Advantges and disadvantages of buying online. By Andres an Sergio

Many people will start to buy all online. This is very popular now and but this have advantges and disadvantages.
One major advantage of online shopping is the fact that it is faster. You can buy all in a few minutes.
Secondly you can find more articles than in a regular store snd all colours and materials.
Whats is more buy in store is better because the experience is really different.
A further advantage of buying in the store is that you can talk to the dealer and negociate the prize.
On the other hand buy in the shop is the lost of time and that sometimes you haven ´t got all articles in all colours.
In conclusion we think that shopping online is better if you live in a insolated place like Mugardos or Ares but no is the best option if you live in a big city.

Advantages and disadvantages of online shopping by Delia and Carlos

Have you ever buy something online? A lot of people are buying online now but...do you really think it's better than buy from a regular store??

One major advantage of shopping online is that you can do your shopping in a few minutes. Secondly, you can get the cheap deals and better prices from online stores.

However, it can be argued that nothing compares with being able to feel and check out product for yourself. And the second reason, is that you can't  hang out with friends and family while shopping.

All things considered, online shopping is worse than buying in the mall becouse it's less fun.

Bittersweet holiday

I went to Salou (Barcelona) last year in July for my 4º ESO trip. Me and my 34 classmates had a fantastic holiday.
I think it was my favorite trip because me and my friends went to the disco every night. I met a gorgeous American boy called John and I danced with him all night. At the end of the night, he asked me for my phone number and obviously I gave it to him, but I broke my leg the last day and I cried a lot! I had to go to the Local Hospital and I had to get a cast. It was a bittersweet experience because I met John but my leg still hurts!!

My trip to Salou by Laura

I went to Salou in Barcelona last year in July.I went with my friends and we spent a week there.
The year before I went to Madrid.Madrid is very different from Bercelona because  Barcelona is on the coast and Madrid land locked or in the middle of the country.
In Barcelona I met gorgeous guy  but unfortunately we are just friends. It was a wonderful experience!!!
But I had a bad experience too when my best friend fell and broke her leg and we had to take her to the hospital.
Over all,I  had a good experience because I  met Karl.
