Reading is Good for Teens by Marcos

My name is Marcos, i'm a spanish teenager who lives in the north of Spain, in Galicia. I'm 16 years old and I think reading is not a very popular activity in teenagers, at least at the place where I live.
People here usually spend almost of their time chatting in their mobile phone, playing computer games or doing some sports (which is also good).

Reading is important in almost all of our life fields. It improves from social skills, to help us keeping healthy, including leisure, of course.
First, your communication skills will be much better. When you read, you learn new words and expressions so your vocabulary range will increased. It may even help your speaking skills because you would know how to say things which atract people's attention. It helps you also in your personal and proffessional growth, because you learn a lot of things from characters and they'll show you some ways of viewing the world surrounding us.

Finally, what happens If you don't like reading?

I recommend readng in quiet places, where you can concentrate more and pay more attention. You must not have any other things which can distract you at the time of reading. You may also think of what you would do If you were one of the characters.
But my main advice is, if you don't like reading, don't do it. Litherature is for enjoying it, not to being forced to enjoy and learn it.

-Marcos
